After nearly two years I’m now back in the blogging seat. The last two years have been busy and rewarding. As with everything there were ups and downs, challenges and triumphs. To give an update of what I’ve been up to. I completed a Master of Social Work degree that involved two different internships that lasted 9 months each.
The first was with a homeless veterans program which I am now employed in. The second was with the Defense Suicide Prevention Office which gave me a very insightful view of the bigger picture and what can be done to impact it. Upon graduation I focused on licensure and the testing required for that. Most recently I completed the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Co-facilitator course which brought me full circle and back to my roots as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
So I’ve made a commitment to myself and all of you to post on a regular basis concerning recovery and inspiring hope. I’m still working on a plan as to what I’ll be posting and if you have any requests please let me know.
Over the past two years I’ve gained a lot of knowledge in the realm of mental health and recovery. There are coping mechanisms, educational snippets, wellness strategies, and advocacy techniques that I cannot wait to share with all of you. Hopefully, sharing what I’ve learned can provide the tools that you may need or that someone you love may need.
In wellness.
